DIGITA RELEASE BULLETIN - 2023 DIGITA SUITE

We are pleased to announce the release of the 2023 Digita Professional Suite.

Product Updates

The following product updates are included in this release:

Digita Personal, Business and Trust Tax 23.0 (Build 17832)

  • Various SA100/800/900 form changes for the 2022/23 tax year.
  • Basis Period Reform Report - New report to identify clients with sole trade and partnership income where the basis period end dates are not between 31 March and 5 April each year.
  • Payment advice improvements for Capital Gains Tax 'refunds' against Income Tax.
  • Functionality to export client list to CSV.
  • Other minor enhancements/fixes.

(Note - 2023/24 transitional year calculations for businesses with a non 31 March to 5 April year end, and changes to pension allowances mentioned in the March 2023 budget will be available in release 23.1 - currently scheduled mid/late May 2023)

Digita Corporation Tax 23.0 (Build 3575)

This release includes the following rate changes which apply from 1 April 2023 to enable you to calculate the relevant tax liabilities for periods ending after 31 March 2023.

  • Update to main tax rate.
  • Reintroduction of marginal relief and associated company rules.
  • Update to R&D relief rates, including:
    • SME enhancement decrease
    • SME payable credit decrease
    • RDEC rate increase.

Please note that this release does not contain the final 2023 Corporation Tax forms or taxonomies, required for online filing of periods ending after 31 March 2023.

We have provided the rate changes in advance of the revised CT600 forms and submission taxonomies to assist with forecasting and providing details of tax payments. The forms and submission taxonomies will be released in May. This decision was made due to delays with HMRC's test servers, which would not have allowed us sufficient testing time and we did not wish to delay this initial release.

Changes announced in the March 2023 budget will be included in later releases.

We continue to work on a permanent solution to reduce workarounds required for super-deduction, which we anticipate will form the basis for the newly announced full-expensing rules.

The Corporation Tax Advanced tax logic update is expected to be due in July.

Digita Accounts Production Advanced 6.30 (Build 9574.38.207176)

This release includes the addition of the 2022 and 2023 IXBRL taxonomies for both the UK and Ireland to enable the filing of company and LLP accounts in the future.

  • FRC 2023 and FRC 2022, used by the following formats;
    • UK FRS 102
    • UK IFRS
    • UK FRS 101
    • LLP
  • Ireland FRS 2023 and FRS 2022, used by the following formats;
    • ROI FRS102
    • ROI IFRS
    • ROI FRS 101

The templates will be updated and released periodically throughout the year to make use of the latest taxonomies. Further newswires will be sent when they are available.

As this is a new build (38) of the existing version, Digita Accounts Production Advanced (6.30), there is no database upgrade required. However, where the software is installed on a network environment a manual update will be needed on each workstation that is connected to the installation server. This release will not prompt users to update each workstation. Guidance on carrying out the update of the software on individual workstations as a node installation can be found here: How to carry out a node installation to run Digita Suite client software on workstations (thomsonreuters.com)

Digita Data Mining 1.1 (Build 69)

Bug Fix: Issue resolved where Windows Authenticated users accessing via Active Directories causes application to crash.

Download and Installation

The full Digita Professional Suite can be downloaded using this link.

If required, the installation guide can be downloaded using this link: Digita Installation Guide.

Before applying the update to Digita Accounts Production Advanced, the Database Cleanup tool must be run (via Tools | Database Cleanup within the Digita Accounts Production Advanced). Please note that this can take a long time to complete (especially if it hasn't been run regularly). Running the cleanup will affect performance for other users so we recommend running it when no-one else is using the system.

Please ensure you backup each product database using the Digita Database Backup tool before applying the update.

  • For standalone installations: download and apply the update on the workstation where the Digita Suite is installed.
  • For network server and peer-to-peer installations: download and apply the update on the machine which is acting as the server. Once the server has been upgraded, the Auto-Node update process will automatically apply the update to each workstation (node) the next time the user logs in to the software.
    • For Accounts Production Advanced, once the server has been upgraded, each workstation PC will need to apply the new version by performing a node install. To do this, open a file explorer and browse back to the shared location on the server in which DAPA has been installed. Within the Accounts Production Advanced folder, open the Nodeins folder and run the setup.bat file. Further information can be found on page 16 of the Digita Installation Guide.

Digita Virtual Office will be updated over the weekend of 31st March. A separate email will be sent to DVO users to confirm details of the scheduled downtime.
