Dividend Data Feed Issue Affecting Tax Returns

We have recently become aware of issues relating to two holdings within the Dividend Data feed in Personal, Business and Trust Tax Version 23.2

HSBC Holdings PLC - $0.50 (ISIN GB0005405286)

An incorrect payment rate is used for the payment on 28 April 2022.

Income/Accumulation Unit Trust Dividends

Equalisation is not being automatically calculated on in year purchases where necessary.

Identifying affected Clients

The below queries identify any client who may be affected by this issue.

Query Manager

To assist in identifying any affected clients below is some text which can be copied and pasted into "Query Manager". A list of affected people can then be generated using the "Client Details" report. To run the Client Details report, go to "Reports | Client Details | Use Query". Select your query and press "OK" to run.

How to copy to Query Manager

Within Personal, Business and Trust Tax, go to the "Tools" menu and select "Query Manager".
Click on the "Temporary (Work in progress)" folder, click the "New" button and choose "Query".
Click on "Advanced" and then "Yes".
Copy and paste the necessary query text (files linked above) into the main window of the "Advanced Query" dialog.
Give the Query a name and click "OK".

Updated Dividend Feed

This issue is resolved in the next release of Personal, Business and Trust Tax, version 23.2 anticipated late Q3/early Q4.

If you prefer to update the dividend data feed manually before then, follow these instructions:

Download the updated Dividend Files from here
The default installation location would be:-
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Digita\Personal Tax\Dividend\22-23\"
The updated files will need to be placed into this location and overwrite the existing files when prompted.
This would need to be installed on any workstations using Digita, Personal Business and Trust Tax.
